Give an Hour and CVS Health collaborate to provide mental health services and resources

Starting Out Strong this Mental Health Month

CLARKSBURG, M.D. (May 1, 2023) – Give an Hour, a national nonprofit organization that provides mental health services to people who have been impacted by trauma, and CVS Health, a leading healthcare solutions company, collaborated to provide a comprehensive level of mental health support to strengthen workforce transformation, which launches during May’s Mental Health Month

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), globally, an estimated 12 billion working days are missed every year due to depression and anxiety at a cost of $1 trillion per year in lost productivity. Joint efforts between nonprofits and companies are a means to solve the access to care that is a big cause of burnout and attrition.

One of the key aspects of this collaboration is to create an accessible system of behavioral health care and education for clients that enter CVS Health’s Workforce Innovative Training Centers (WITCs) in Cleveland and Detroit. Give an Hour will train WITC staff in mental health support and navigation, as well as the organization’s referral process and resiliency techniques. This will ensure that WITC clients have access to the mental health resources and support they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives.

“Give an Hour is committed to creating accessible mental health services and resources for everyone, and we are thrilled to collaborate with CVS Health to provide this support to WITC clients,” said Dr. Trina Clayeux, CEO of Give an Hour. “By training WITC staff on mental health support and navigation, we can ensure that clients receive the care and resources they want and need to maintain their emotional well-being during these difficult times.”

“We are proud to work with Give an Hour to provide mental health support and education to our WITC clients and staff,” said Tom Ashworth, Sr. Manager of Diversity & Health Equity. “We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality healthcare services, and this partnership is an important step towards achieving that.”

The hope is to grow this model and scale it to serve more people across the nation. By taking care of our workforce and providing them with the tools to succeed professionally and personally, our nation will become stronger together.  For more information, visit www.giveanhour.org.
