Traumaversary: Tips for Navigating a Difficult Time

The anniversary of a traumatic event is often termed a “traumaversary” or “anniversary effect” and may result in increased feelings of distress, anxiety or maybe even guilt or shame. The recent remembrance activities surrounding the five-years that have passed since the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting in Las Vegas brought up these very real feelings for many survivors and families who lost loved ones in the tragic act of violence. Because this time is hard for so many, Give an Hour put together a few tips to help navigate your way through the multitude of feelings and emotions you may be experiencing in this difficult time.
