Recognize Silent Suffering with New Psychoeducational Tool

By December 8, 2022May 10th, 2023News

CLARKSBURG, Md. – (Dec. 8, 2022) – Give an Hour® creates “I’m Fine,” an easily recognizable icon, which is the first in a series developed to represent the Signs of Silent Suffering

The launch of this new psychoeducational tool is designed to help people identify when someone is hiding behind the façade of “I’m fine.” The recent pandemic saw the country go into lockdowns, necessary isolation and all the stressors that accompanied COVID-19 and this brought about the realization that many people definitely were not okay.

As a companion to its Five Signs of Emotional Suffering and the Healthy Habits of Emotional Well-Being, Give an Hour hopes this new sign will provide individuals with the tools needed to recognize they – or someone in their life – needs emotional support.

To launch the series, Give an Hour published an informational tip sheet with practical advice that can be shared among family, friends or coworkers. Additionally, Give an Hour is hosting a free webinar Thursday, December 8, at noon EST, titled, “The Masks We Wear: ‘I’m Fine’ – How Shielding Ourselves and Others from True Feelings Prevents True Healing.”
