Give an Hour is pleased to announce that the following outreach and education opportunities are available at no cost to schools, programs, and organizations throughout Ventura County.

Youth & Young Adult Outreach and Education Programs

How we feel is important and can play a key role in substance use. But we don’t talk it about it enough! To decrease the stigma around mental health, this 40- minute hands on and active workshop teaches youth the healthy habits of emotional well-being, the signs to look for in others so that those who need help get the support they deserve, and healthy coping skills to choose over substance use.  High school-aged participants will learn the basics of opioid overdose recognition and effective response to an overdose.

Parent & Community Outreach and Education Programs

Do you know how to talk to your adolescent about drug use?  How about emotional well-being?  It’s not easy, but we can help! This 40-minute workshop will encourage and support adults in talking to teens about emotional well-being, teach the signs of emotional suffering and how they can contribute to substance use.  In addition, participants will learn about the current opioid epidemic, opioid risks, how to protect your family, drug access, storage, and safe disposal of prescription medications.
