WASHINGTON (March 1, 2017) – Got Your 6 today announced $1.1 million in funding granted to 20 of its nonprofit Veteran Empowerment Coalition partners to support on-the-ground initiatives ensuring successful veteran reintegration and veteran empowerment in communities across the country. The funding was generated through the retailer Macy’s 2016 “American Icons” campaign and “Summer Vibes” online music festival. The grant awards, which represent a 22 percent increase of the previous year’s total, support Got Your 6’s mission of achieving widespread social change through the power of collective impact.
Give An Hour is awarded $50,000 to support the Campaign to Change Direction, a collective impact effort to change the culture of mental health in America by encouraging veterans, military families, and civilians to learn and share the “Five Signs” of emotional suffering and to pay attention to their emotional well-being.
