Closing the Loop

August 2024 Warrior Wellness Cohort

We appreciate the openness and willingness to engage in critical discussions during the training facilitated in August 2024. We are excited to share the results of the survey, which highlights the significant impact of the training and areas where we have seen growth and improvement. Also on this page you will find resources for the next step in your mental health journey with us.

I feel very confident in opening up more with these types of situations.

My views have changed because now I know its okay to do so without consequences or judgement.

I will benefit from attending this again, for reinforcement. The training helped me make immediate growth as a facilitator and listener in these conversations.

I was always the type of leaders to keep my mental health problems on the low. After deep discussion I realized that others share and relate to the same.

I honestly feel like the mentors that taught this class has all the resources and tools to open up people like myself to be comfortable. Ms Julie is a phenomenal person and teacher!

During our time together, many of you demonstrated a remarkable increase in comfort level of these mental health topics:

  • Seeking Mental Health Support: The most significant increase was seen in your comfort in seeking mental health support from others, with an impressive 43.65% growth.
  • Offering Mental Health Support: Comfort in offering mental health support to others grew by 35.60%.
  • Asking Open-Ended Questions: There was a 31.25% increase in comfort by asking open-ended questions to facilitate deeper conversations.
  • Discussing Mental Health with Peers: A more modest, yet notable, 14.29% growth was observed in comfort discussing mental health issues with peers.
  • Active Listening: Confidence in active listening skills saw an 11.31% improvement.

We hear you and will take the following into consideration!

  • A portion of you noted that fear of judgment and lack of trust were significant barriers to sharing personal challenges. Some of you expressed reluctance to discuss emotions due to a preference for privacy.
  • Some participants also sought to become better at recognizing signs of distress and addressing mental health issues in themselves and others. Many found reassurance in the clarification that they are not expected to be therapists, allowing them to understand their supportive roles without overstepping boundaries.
  • The group identified the practical methods, tools, and strategies provided during training were appreciated, particularly the discussions around initiating sensitive conversations and recommending professional help when necessary. The 5 Signs were especially impactful for participants, as they provided tangible ways to recognize when someone may be struggling.
