The Suicide and Trauma Reduction Initiative for VEterans (STRIVE) project is a three-year treatment and training effort coordinated by the University of Utah’s National Center for Veterans Studies in partnership with the American Association of Suicidology and CBS Community Partnerships.
The initiative has two main goals:
- To provide state-of-the-art psychological treatment to military personnel, veterans, and family members struggling with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suicidal thoughts. https://veterans.utah.edu/strive/#form
- To provide in-depth training to licensed mental health professionals who work with service members and veterans to use the crisis response plan, a scientifically-supported method for suicide prevention among military personnel. https://veterans.utah.edu/training-workshops/?fwp_workshop_type=strive
