The Young Adult Black Male: Meeting Him at the Intersection of Race & Trauma

This interactive training is designed to provide practitioners with the foundational understanding and tools to address the unique trauma needs of young adult African American males. Participants will unpack the relationship between racial identity and trauma. Using the needed anti-oppression intersectional framework, participants will be able to develop practice

• Increased awareness of the intersectional relationship between race and trauma
• Identification of the impact of systemic oppression on violence perpetration and trauma survivorship amongst males
• Identify the connection between privilege, bias, and its impact on clinical service provision and outcomes
• Enhanced understanding of the collective and historical trauma experienced by African American males
